*Personally Impersonal*
Show Statement
There are traits that identify us from which we cannot escape; those which we are born with and those we compile as we go along. Our bodies are in a constant state of change from birth to adulthood and we each evolve our own physical histories.
The same unique qualities which differentiate us from one another are often experienced and portrayed in ways that dehumanize the individual such as getting fingerprinted, having a drivers license photo taken, or having a cavity filled.
We each carry our own histories, emotions and memories that are part of what define who we are. This project examines the connections and divisions between our very personal experiences of life and the impersonally identifiable traits of our existence.
This audio track is narrated interviews where participants where asked to describe their dental history and the story behind their first kiss. It was placed to be listened to next to the enlarged lip prints and enlarged dental x-rays.

This audio track comes from narrated interviews where participants were asked to describe their visual medical history. As well they were asked to describe beautiful or ugly things that they had seen. It was played next to screenprints of their faces which were either expressionless as in an i.d. photo or expressive with their eyes highlighted and reprinted on overlays.
